Ayesha—who shares Riley, 12, Ryan, 9, Canon, 6, and Caius, 7 months, with the Golden State Warriors player—gave a peek inside her relationships with their children. And this includes the sweet words they have that always lift her spirits.
“My girls [Riley and Ryan] especially make me feel beautiful,” the Sweet July founder gushed to Haute Beauty in an interview published Jan. 15. “They’re loaded with compliments, and that’s always such a cup filler-upper. My husband, too, always fills me with sweet nothings and compliments. He always makes me feel beautiful.”
That being said Canon will occasionally take her back down to earth by unexpectedly dunking on his mom.
“My six-year-old son will humble you real fast,” the 35-year-old explained with a laugh. “He’s still at the phase of brutal, innocent honesty. He’s done this three times now: he’ll run in the kitchen and be like, ‘Mom, are you having another baby? Your belly looks big.’ I’m like, ‘No, I’m not.’”
“Actually, I just lost three pounds,” she added. “I don’t say it to him, but in my head I’m like, ‘Dang, you got me again!’”
And, while she loves her time at home with the kids, the cookbook author shared that she “would love to act again,” which is a passion that holds an extra special place in her heart.
“I would love to act again. You know, that’s how my husband met me; it was through acting,” Ayesha—who most recently appeared alongside pal Lindsay Lohan in 2024’s Irish Wish—said. “Well, he didn’t meet me that way, I suppose—we met when we were little kids—but when we started dating, I was actively acting in L.A., and him, coming from North Carolina, thought that was so cool.”
“I remember him bringing me to his college and saying, ‘This is my girlfriend; she’s an actress,'” she continued. “I want him to keep feeling that way; I’ve got to keep him on his toes!”
Plus, as Ayesha pointed out, she now has to keep up with Stephen—who starred in Peacock’s Mr. Throwback last year—but that doesn’t mean he isn’t also incredibly supportive of her renewed acting ambitions.
“Now he’s the actor guy,” she said. “But he’s also my biggest supporter in that space. He’s like, ‘Do it, do it!”
